Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide is the founder and Chairman of West Africa's largest airline, Arik Air - a company he founded in 2002.

Lagos-based Arik Air which began with a single Hawker jet aircraft, now boasts of a fleet of over 23 aircraft in service. Currently it has placed an order for 18 more airplanes (including 2 Boeing 747 jets). The airline has also become the national carrier of the neighboring country, Sierra
