(Reuters) - Americans are getting their first look on Saturday at whether a five-week, round-the-clock technology overhaul has made it easier to use the troubled website that is the backbone of President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare overhaul.

33 feared dead as Mozambique Airlines plane crashes in Namibia

A Mozambique Airlines plane carrying 33 people crashed in a remote border area, killing all on board, Namibian media reported Saturday.

The plane crashed in a Namibian national park near the border with Angola and there were no survivors, said Namibian deputy police commissioner Bollen Sankwasa, according to The Namibia Press Agency. An investigation of the cause was underway.

The U.S. Coast Guard found a man Wednesday who survived the deadly capsizing of a boat packed with migrants in the Bahamas as a search continued for survivors or more bodies.

Nigeria: Death toll in church stampede rises to 24

The death toll as a result of a stampede an overcrowded church gathering in eastern Nigeria is now 24, according to information provided by the Red Cross.

Nineteen women were amongst the dead at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Uke, Anambra state on Saturday, where around 100,000 worshippers had gathered for All Souls Day, Red Cross spokesman Peter Kachi said by telephone.

Jamaica: Minister gives update on trans-shipment port proposal

A Jamaican official says a study has reviewed the natural resources of the island-nation's largest protected area as the government advances plans for a possible Chinese-financed port in the zone.

Africa growth expected to continue - to hit 6% in 2014

(Reuters) - Sub-Saharan Africa's economic growth is expected to increase to 6 percent in 2014, from 5 percent this year, supported by investment in infrastructure and production capacity, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Thursday.

The IMF had predicted in May that the region would grow 5.7 percent this year and 6.1 percent in 2014.

Stop and frisk: Federal appeals court blocks judges order

A federal appeals court on Thursday blocked a judge's order requiring changes to the New York Police Department's stop and frisk program and removed the judge from the case.

Residents of disputed Abyei choose South Sudan in referendum

In an unofficial referendum, residents of a disputed area between Sudan and South Sudan said they want to join South Sudan.

The outcome, announced Wednesday, is no surprise since the residents who voted beginning Sunday are aligned with South Sudan. Zachariah Deng Majok, a member of the Abyei Referendum High Committee, said more than 99 percent of votes went for South Sudan.
