Jamaica: Recession deepens - economy contracts by 0.6% in 3rd quarter

Jamaica went deeper into recession in the third quarter, during which the economy contracted by 0.6 percent year over year, said the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ).

The July to September performance would follow gross domestic product (GDP) declines in the first and second quarters of 0.1 percent and 0.2 percent respectively, as recorded by the Statistical Institution of Jamaica (STATIN).
