Brigadier Gen. Nadja West promoted to Major General - will become first African American two-star general in the United States Army Medical Command

Brigadier Gen. Nadja West (pictured), deputy chief of staff, for the United States Army Medical Command will be promoted to Major General.

This promotion will make West the first African American two-star general in the United States Army Medical Command.

Gen. West, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy with a bachelor of science in engineering and attended the George Washington University School of Medicine, where she earned a Doctorate of Medicine degree.
