U.S. President Barack Obama is appointing the woman behind the television series “Scandal,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” to the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees.
Shonda Rhimes is a Golden Globe winner and three-time Emmy nominee. Her show “Scandal” stars actress Kerry Washington, a major Obama supporter.
Additionali, the White House says Obama is also tapping financier David Rubenstein and executive Alexandra Stanton to the Kennedy Center’s board.
