Ethiopia on track to becoming regional exporter of energy as in commissions Africa's largest Wind Farm - Ashegoda Wind Farm

(Reuters) - Ethiopia has commissioned Africa's biggest wind farm - Ashegoda Wind Farm, and in the process diversified electricity generation from hydropower plants and places the country in a position to become a major regional exporter of energy.

Ethiopia plans to boost generating capacity from 2,000 MW to 10,000 MW within the next three to five years, much of it coming from the 6,000 MW Grand Renaissance Dam under construction on the Nile river.
