Elections underway in the Cayman Islands

Incumbent Cayman Islands Premier Julianna O’Connor Connolly

Voters in the Cayman Islands are going to the polls today to elect a new government with political observers pointing to the possibility of a coalition administration emerging after the ballots are counted.

The vote comes six months after former Cayman Premier McKeeva Bush resigned following his arrest on suspicion of corruption.

Polls opened at 7:00 am (8:00 am EST) and will close at 6:00 pm local time (7:00 pm
