Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown seeking to become first African American governor of Maryland

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (pictured), has launched a bid to become the next governor of the state of Maryland. If he succeeds, he will become the first African American governor of the state.

Outgoing governor, Martin O’Malley formally endorsed Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown to be his successor. O’Malley made the endorsement Saturday at Waverly Elementary/Middle School, saying his lieutenant governor and fellow Democrat has his full support in the 2014 race.
