A company that monitors global Internet traffic says that the undersea fiber-optic cable connecting Jamaica to Cuba has come online.
Internet analysis firm Renesys says it detected the new traffic between Cable & Wireless Jamaica and Cuban state telecom monopoly Etecsa beginning May 13.
Renesys announced the new connection in a post on the company's blog Monday.
